Inmate Among Three Charged In Linden Robbery Spree

Police believe they have found the people behind two robberies that plagued Linden last winter.

The Linden Police Department announced the arrest of Isiah Barrett, a 32-year-old Elizabeth resident, Daron Thomas, a 32-year-old resident of East Orange and Alfred Pierre, a 37-year-old Roselle resident. 

The three men were charged with first-degree carjacking and multiple counts of first-degree armed robbery for a robbery of a business last December and an armed robbery and carjacking in January, police said. They have also been hit with similar charges for crimes that occurred in Elizabeth, Roselle and Orange, police said.

Barrett was in Essex County Jail at the time of his arrest while Thomas and Pierre were arrested on Tuesday, April 4 and remanded to Union County Jail, police said.

North Jersey’s Joseph Luongo, 33, Remembered As Loving Son, Brother

Joseph Vincent Luongo, who died on Saturday, March 25, is being remembered as a loving son and brother, according to his obituary.

Luongo, 33, lived in Pompton Plains and previously lived in Nutley, according to the obituary. 

He worked as a boiler operator at Johanna Foods in Flemington, and is survived by his parents, Francisco and Deanna, and his brothers, Francesco and Valentino.
